FOLLOWING IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF HIS FATHER WHO SERVED IN THE US ARMY DURING WORLD WAR II, HUSSEIN ABUKHDEIR PROUDLY SERVED HIS COUNTRY IN THE US AIR FORCE, RETIRING AFTER 28 YEARS OF SERVICE TO SCHRIEVER AIR FORCE BASE. DURING THAT TIME HE WAS TRANSFERRED TO COLORADO SPRINGS IN 1998. ALREADY AN OCEAN AWAY FROM THEIR HOMELAND IN JERUSALEM, HIS FAMILY'S SEARCH FOR AUTHENTIC MIDDLE EASTERN FOOD HAD THEM TRAVELING AFAR FOR THE NEAREST RESTAURANT. HUSSEIN, HIS WIFE, AND CHILDREN BEGAN DREAMING OF OPENING A RESTAURANT THAT OFFERED AFFORDABLE AND A DELICIOUSLY AUTHENTIC CUISINE. IN 2007 THIS DREAM BECAME A REALITY.
